THE WRITER'S HANG CELEBRATES 10 YEARS!
The big party on March 6 was amazing with performance by about 15 amazing artists, including Matt Azzarto, Jessica Owen, Debbie Deane, Rob Morsberger, Preacher Boy, KJ Denhert, Marc Von Em, Elena Skye, Joh Pinamonti, Jonathan Spottiswoode., Swamp Cabbage and more...
Ten years of truly incredible shows and world-class talent in an intimate, classy and vibey environment. We are very proud. Thank you for helping to make The Hang a true success on so many levels. Stay tuned-- this night will be a celebration and we hope to feature many spontaneous performances by some of the nearly 200 artists that have joined us (no, not all of them...) in a festive atmosphere.
NEW RECORD! (Really!)...
Sorry it took so long, and thanks for the inquires and patience. The new record will be called HOME BITTERSWEET HOME and definitely be available in JANUARY 08... It's a beautiful disc of pure, lush Americana Soul, recorded in Nashville, TN, produced by Neilson Hubbard (Garrison Starr, Glen Phillips) & SEM. There are 4 tunes up on the MySpace page... enjoy and stay tuned.
There are some really CD RELEASE SHOWS and absolutely stellar WRITER'S HANGS coming in '08. Gonna playing a lot more andhopefully in your town...
Scott E. Moore FILM SCORE!
Scott is currently working with award-winning producer-composer Rich Tozzoli on the score to a brilliant feature documentary called "A View From Below." , by Matt O'Connor & Paul DiNatale. It's the riveting story of an obsessed explorer who built his own submarine and takes it to depths no non-commercial submersible has gone. At 2200 feet below the sea, the pressure and risks are beyond life-threatening, but the magical world revealed is one that few have ever seen. The footage is insanely beautiful and the music created by Scott & Rich explores the the emotional depths of the character and film, heightens the intensity and features dynamic guitar and lap steel work by Scott. The movie will hit the festival circuit in '08.

Scott & The Writer's Hang was featured in a brilliant documentary series called "Keeping Time: New Music from America's Roots" on The Sundance Channel. The shows were created by acclaimed director Gillian Grisman ("Grateful Dawg"). Also included in the series are Nickel Creek, Gillian Welch, Robert Randolph, Bela Fleck and others. Sundance taped Scott, Richard Julian and Toshi Reagon for "The Art of Song" episode. Check the Sundance site for re-airings.
